Community Protection
Phase 2 RQA training and cholera learning event for Zambia and Zimbabwe This project aims to foster knowledge sharing and collaborative learning among stakeholders involved in Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) responses to cholera outbreaks in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi. By strengthening collaboration between country teams, the initiative seeks to enhance the effectiveness of current and future outbreak responses. |

The cross-border RCCE readiness training for Eastern Africa was conducted from 15-19 April 2024 in Mombasa, Kenya. It was born out of the lessons learned from past public health emergencies in East and Southern Africa, highlighting the crucial need for robust national and cross-border collaboration. Recent events, such as the cholera outbreaks and a One Health Simulation Exercise, underscored the importance of coordinated RCCE efforts to improve community engagement and trust during crises. |

Community readiness tabletop exercise (Ghana) Alongside the Ghanain Ministry of Health and the WHO, the UK-PHRST organised a three-day community readiness simulation exercise in Ghana to test the country's community-level preparedness and emergency procedures and response plans. |

Technical Assistance
Somaliland MoHD epidemiological outbreak training (post-deployment) Following UK-PHRST bilateral deployment with Somaliland Ministry of Health Development (MoHD), a technical gap in the MoHD’s epidemiological capacity was identified, and subsequent plans were co-developed to deliver descriptive epidemiology and outbreak investigation training. |
