Summary: The UK-Public Health Rapid Support Team (UK-PHRST) is co-led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Public Health England (PHE), funded by UK government Official Development Assistance with a triple remit of response, research and capacity development for outbreaks in low and middle income countries (LMICs). The main purpose of the post is to contribute epidemiological and analytical expertise to support the UK-PHRST’s strategic objectives in outbreak response, operational research, and capacity building, working in partnership with local and regional stakeholders. The post holder must be available to be deployed overseas within 48 hours as part of the response function of the UK-PHRST, working alongside a wider team of epidemiologists, clinical researchers, infection prevention and control experts, microbiologists and others in the UK-PHRST, partner countries and stakeholder organisations. The post holder will also represent the UK-PHRST at relevant external events, conferences and workshops.
